What are main differences between Microsoft Office and OpenOffice.org?
I am really interested in Open Office but have been using Microsoft Office for the longest time now. One of my main concerns is I use a a PDA phone with Windows Mobile 5.0 so I use Microsoft Outlook to sync. Does OpenOffice even have a program like Outlook?
Does anyone know of any features that one program has that the other does not? are any of these features important?
I just want to know the main differences between the programs and how much it actually matters.
Thank you.
There are several sites that compare the features of the two systems (see links below).
Mozilla Thunderbird offers a simpler alternative to Outlook. Though it does not contain a calendar, I believe there is another product in the same suite that does. (Just checked – it’s called Sunbird).
Thuderbird has an extension to hotsync with Palm OS, but not one to Windows Mobile. However, if you keep one as a master, (hard, as they are typically used for different things) it should be possible to export and import to a windows folder and then reload to the the other.
Anyone want to write the opensource code for Windows Mobile hotsync?
